SCLS Network issue - services back up

2012-05-15 11:30am - we believe that all SCLS services should be back up.  Please call the Help Desk (608-242-4710) if you find things that are not working as expected.

2012-05-15 11:20am  - SCLS has received reports that certain network resources are unavailable.  We will post more information as we determine the scope of the problem.

• EMAIL is down.
• Madison TS file share is down.

2012-05-11 10:45am  The problem that had been affecting patrons attempting to dial in to Telecirc/Harriet has now been fixed.  If any patrons still report having problems after 10:45am today, please contact the Help Desk.

2012-05-08 5:02pm The Koha sandbox was down for a brief period this morning, but it is available now.

Planned Internet Service Maintenance

On Monday morning, May 7th, the SCLS Network WiscNet feed capacity was upgraded (from 50 Mbps to 1000 Mbps). All network services were down for about 15 minutes during the upgrade procedure, but all services are now fully available.

Authentication for OverDrive, Library Online, and Online Resources (LINKcat libs only)

2012-05-04 5:00pm:  The LINKcat patron information was successfully loaded into the authentication database again last night.   "Business as usual" again.  :)

2012-05-03 8:30am:  the LINKcat patron information was successfully loaded into the authentication database last night.  That means, "business as usual" today for authentication (yay!).

2012-05-02 2:00pm:  "Fresh" LINKcat patron information was successfully loaded into the authentication database around 1:50pm.  Patrons who have gotten new cards, replaced cards, or renewed cards since Monday should be able to access the resources listed above.

• we hope that the LibLime server issues will be resolved soon so that normal nightly updates can occur, but if they don't, these are the suggested workarounds:
• workaround for Library Online:  temp cards
• workaround for Online Resources:  use Online Resources from SCLS-supported library PCs on the SCLS network  (access should be available without a library card number)
• This issue should be resolved the day after the Koha server issues are resolved.

Ancestry Library, HeritageQuest planned outage

2012-05-05 ProQuest(R) will be performing infrastructure maintenance on Saturday, May 5, 2012. A twelve (12) hour maintenance window will be required for this maintenance. The window will take place from Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 9:00 pm to Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 9:00 am.

OverDrive Media Console for Windows v3.2 cannot transfer WMA audiobooks to iPhones with recent iOS5 update

10/17/2011 - A patron reported to the WPLC support email, "I see my book is checked out but I don't see how I'm supposed to download it to my iPhone 3G." OverDrive's response: "... the issue your patron is having with WMA files not showing up on their Apple device following the update to iOS5. We are aware of the issue and our developers are working to correct it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of when it will be completed. Please check the following page for an update to OverDrive Media Console for Windows once an update is made available. http://www.overdrive.com/Software/omc/"
